In the cold winter months it’s much easier to hide the fact that your workouts have been less than consistent than in the summer. Large bulky sweaters give way to tank tops and swimsuits, and this is the time when many people want to see their arms looking tone and firm. Isawall has numerous exercises that will allow you to make your arms tank top worthy. So let’s take a look at some awesome arm exercises that you can do on Isawall.

There are numerous attachments that can be used with Isawall. This will help to keep your workouts different and exciting. Additionally, it can keep your body in more of a continual straight of adaptation, constantly trying to adjust to the new and different stresses placed on it. We’ll take a look at some great exercises on Isawall using the TRX, Lifeline, and resistance bands.

TRX Curls

I love TRX curls. There are a few reasons for this. First, you are moving your body-mass with your biceps, as opposed to moving weights or plates on a machine. Secondly, you are using your core to keep your spine in the proper alignment as you move up and down. Thirdly, it just feels cool.

To do this exercise you simply need to attach the TRX to a high insertion point on Isawall. Unlike a TRX row, you will not be able to step as far away from the wall. This is because it’s only your biceps moving you, not numerous back and shoulder muscles. The biceps on their own are not capable of moving nearly as much mass, and therefore you cannot step back as much away from the wall, which increases resistance.

Lifeline Assisted Pushups

One of my favorite exercises has always been pushups. The Lifeline is a great tool for helping you to get some amazing sets of pushups knocked out. A pushup utilizes the chest muscles, as well as the front of the shoulders. You also use some core muscles to maintain proper spinal positioning. The triceps however are also extensively used during pushups, making them a great way to tone up your arms. When people see Isawall for the first time this is one of the exercises that really gets them excited.

One way to work the triceps even more is to do close grip pushups with assistance. This directs more of the resistance to the triceps. Doing assisted pushups this way is a great way to really target the back of the arms.

Overhead Resistance Triceps Band Extensions

In the gym you will often see machines that zero in on the triceps. Cable machines are often employed as well as a means to target the back of the arms. There are a few benefits of doing the overhead resistance band extensions on Isawall as opposed to the other methods however.

With overhead extensions, you really get a deep stretch in the triceps as you begin the movement. Since the band is pulling in the direction of the wall, you must also use various core muscles to sustain proper posture. Use of your core is typically not required when doing resistance machines that focus on the triceps muscles. Additionally, most free weight triceps exercises do not utilize the core in any way.

Standing Resistance Band Biceps Curls

One more great way to work the arms is to do standing resistance band curls. Much like the standing triceps band extensions, you will utilize more core than you would with standard barbells or dumbbells. The reason for this is quite simple. Since the line of resistance is not coming straight up from the floor, but rather at an angle out in front of you, your body must utilize core muscles in order to prevent your body from being pulled to the line of insertion for the resistance band.

Additional Benefits Of Biceps And Triceps Resistance Exercises On Isawall

In addition to using your core for the biceps and triceps resistance band exercises, your body will experience a different kind of resistance on Isawall. Unlike machines, the resistance band exercises themselves are not guided. You must both move and control the resistance band. This requires the use of additional muscles as stabilizers not used in traditional resistance machines.

Another major benefit of working with the resistance bands on Isawall is that the greatest degree of resistance comes as you near the end of the range of motion during an exercise. Most resistance exercises are more difficult at the beginning of the motion. With resistance bands, the opposite is true. The closer you get to the end range of motion, the more difficult the exercise becomes.

Finally, it’s easy to do drop-sets on Isawall with resistance bands. To do this, simply start out with a higher resistance band, and when you can’t do anymore repetitions, drop down to a lighter resistance band and keep going. This will really take your arm workouts to the next level on your Isawall.

Four Great Isawall Exercises For Tank Top Worthy Arms

The above mentioned exercises are great for building defined and toned arms. They will help increase your strength and challenge your body in new and exciting ways. Additionally, every one of the exercises mentioned forces each arm to operate independently of each other. This is important because when doing resistance machines or cables exercises, unless each arm is pulling a separate mechanism, you can have one arm doing more work than the other and not even know it. Most people have one arm that is stronger than the other. These four great exercises force each arm to do its own work, not relying on the other arm. Give them a try on your Isawall, and if you don’t have one, make sure to contact one of our representatives at Sales@isawallsystems.com or by phone at 440-591-7854.  We will be happy to assist you with ordering your Isawall or answering any questions you may have.
