Bodyweight Exercises
If anything gets your body burning calories it’s moving your own body-mass against gravity. Although most of us are so used to doing it we don’t think much about it, moving your body-mass against the force of gravity requires significant energy. With Isawall we have a huge assortment of body-mass exercises that can be done.
In keeping with the core philosophy at Isawall, we have numerous exercises whereby virtually anyone can engage in body-mass training. This can be done because of the various tools and attachments that create practical methods from the newbie to the most elite athlete. There are two primary methods of bodyweight training on Isawall; unassisted body-mass training, and assisted body-mass training.
Unassisted Body-Mass Training
With unassisted body-mass training, you will be moving your own body-mass against gravity with no additional help. Suspension training, and the use of the pushup/balance bar and the dip bars, will allow you to push yourself to the max. As you move your own body-mass against gravity you will build muscle and burn calories at the same time.
Assisted Body-Mass training
There are a few primary reasons for engaging in assisted body-mass training. First, if you’re starting out with body-mass training, having some assistance as your body begins to strengthen and adapt to the movements is typically best. As you start out, your central nervous system will begin to communicate more effectively with your muscles over the days and weeks as you progress in your workouts. Your body will learn how to engage in various exercises and how to pull in various muscle groups most effectively in order to do them. By the time you hit two months into your workouts, you muscles will be physically adapting to the stimulus they are experiencing, and you will be able to visibly see the results.
Second, if you can do body-mass training without assistance, as you progress throughout your workouts and your muscles get more and more fatigued, you can add assistance to help you finish additional sets. By pushing your muscles to the maximum they can handle, you will begin to experience failure and need to drop the resistance down, or add assistance. By using the assistance attachments for Isawall, you can continue to push your muscles even as they begin to experience failure at unassisted body-mass exercises.
Thirdly, with assisted Body-Mass training even those who are very strong can change up their workouts to add in high rep sets. High rep sets will target a different type of muscle fiber than their higher resistance/lower repetition counterparts. High rep sets can also be a great way to burn more calories, as the body has to utilize added energy for the duration of the longer set. Many people who are accustomed to doing lower repetition/higher resistance exercises will find them a unique challenge, and they are a great way to change up your workout.
One Final Tip For Weight Loss With Isawall
For those looking to lose weight, Isawall can be maximized by going from one exercise to the next with little or no rest in between. This is extremely easy and practical with Isawall because changing between exercises typically takes less than five seconds. By limiting rest, and moving to different exercises quickly that challenge different parts of the body, you will burn more calories and experience greater weight loss in addition to strengthening your muscles.
